Visiting Oklahoma City? Try these tourists attractions

Visiting the Oklahoma City area or have some out of town guests traveling through OKC?

I wanted to share some Oklahoma City tourist attractions and fun things in the area that are worth checking out.

There are various exciting things to do while exploring Oklahoma City that I have found worthwhile. I could not wait to share a list of things you should do in the Oklahoma City metro area. This list is geared more towards adults but if you need an idea of places to take children or that are more family-friendly; check out this list of fun things to do with children in the Oklahoma City metro area instead.

Have your children with you? Try PINKITZEL as they have a location in downtown Oklahoma City close to the Myriad Gardens. There is also an Edmond location I have yet to try. When I checked out the downtown location I tried the strawberry ice cream on a birthday cake cone. It was delicious! My little one has the sherbet. This spot allows birthday parties if you book them and there are candy bars. Imagine cute décor and treats! What's not to love?

During basketball season you can typically score tickets to an NBA Thunder game downtown fairly inexpensive. There are scooters downtown you can rent or try taking an uber or lyft to avoid parking costs and finding parking.

The Bricktown Water Taxi is affordable plus gives you some Oklahoma history while enjoying the ride.

Stay with Radisson throughout the US! Book today with our destination guide.

Omni Hotel is gorgeous, has valet, an outdoor swimming pool and restaurants inside. During the warmer months you can rent a day pass just to enjoy the gorgeous pool. It is located in downtown Oklahoma City. This is a fabulous hotel to stay at if you are just in the city visiting.

Scissortail Park is literally next door to Omni Hotel. In the Summer children can enjoy a splash pad. Sometimes there are bands, food trucks or festivals going on at the park. It is pet-friendly and has restaurants to check out if you need a bite to eat.

The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum has a gift shop, café, area for children to enjoy and plenty of history about the state of Oklahoma.

Wheeler District is so fun in the warmer months as they often have concerts, exhibitors and hammocks to enjoy. There is also the Wheeler Ferris Wheel in which you can get a ride once or purchase a day pass.

Oklahoma River Cruises is a fun experience to enjoy some sight-seeing. All landings have parking access.

RiverSport looks so fun! There is so much to do here! Surfing, zip-lining, water sports, dining and so much more. All the families on boats definitely looks like a great time!

Lake Hefner has restaurants such as Louie's on the Lake and RedRock closeby. You will often see plenty of bikers, hikers, boats and pets. The lighthouse is so pretty during the sunset. Try Hefner Grill one day during sunset. I see quite a few engagements go on at the lighthouse. It is also a perfect place to get some exercise on the walking trail.

Riverwind Casino usually has concerts on weekends and I like trying their restaurants inside. Since it is open twenty-four hours; I tend to forget there is always time for fun there! Try your hand at some slot machines then head over to one of their restaurants or bars.

The Oklahoma State Firefighter's Museum is a small museum close to the Oklahoma City Zoo. It is something to stop by and see if you happen to be in the area.

Vast is a gorgeous fine dining restaurant that has a wonderful lunch special often going on that is around $20 per person. Vast is located inside the tall Devon building in downtown Oklahoma City. In the evening; the views are spectacular!

The Myriad Botanical Gardens is free to wander outdoors. You will often see ducks and plenty of fish. The crystal bridge is pretty and there is an admission for that. I prefer visiting this attraction on weekends or weekdays after six p.m. when street parking is free of charge.

I have attended many events and festival hosted at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. They currently offer complimentary yoga classes for adults and story time for children on select days throughout the month. There is a children's garden, carousel and splash pad close by.

Taking a ride on the Oklahoma Streetcar is affordable and sometimes they offer free days. There are several that go different routes.

Searching for delicious Italian food? Try Gabriella's which is not far from Remington Park Casino in which has seafood buffet style eating some nights. If you are into horse racing and gambling at Remington Park Casino then you may want to hang around in the area to try the movie theater super close by! It is pretty much across the street so may as well.

My favorite movie theater in the area would be in Moore. There is also a Midwest City location which is smaller. These are the Warren Theaters and you can order adult beverages with proper ID.

Bricktown has a movie theater that is called Harkins. Coolest part? They have a child care center which is perfect for a date night for parents.

A must-see is the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum. It is emotional but a beautiful museum with so much to learn about the tragic event that occurred there.

If you happen to be downtown; check out the Banjo Museum. It is very small and will not take long to look through; but worth stopping by while strolling the downtown area.

A restaurant in downtown Oklahoma City I enjoy a lot is Pearl's Crabtown as it's family-friendly. They also have their own parking spaces which can come in handy.
