I caught up with local hair colorist and makeup artist Cody; from Rebel Manikin to chat a little bit about his business in the cosmetology industry.
So many moms in my area for example are always looking for amazing beauty professionals who truly care about their clients. Therefore; I wanted to showcase some very special Oklahoma cosmetologists and professionals.
First; I wanted our readers to meet Cody because I have seen his work online and could not pass up the opportunity to invite him for a little Q & A session. I wanted to know more about him and what made him choose such a creative career...besides the fact he is very talented!

What made you get into cosmetology?
I’ve always loved making people happy; but I wanted to show everyone that they are naturally beautiful.
What do you specialize in at your salon?
I’m a hair color specialist /makeup artist.
What is your salon name?
How can potential clients find you on social media? Do you have a website?
If you could choose to live anywhere besides Oklahoma; where would you choose?
Either Seattle, WA or Siesta keys, FLA
What is your favorite thing about your job?
My favorite thing is the connections and bonds I make and how I can make a difference in their lives and help them get through whatever their struggle with is at that moment...along with giving them the look they want.
If you could do any other career; which would you choose?
If I could do anything different I’d be a psychologist, marine biologist or social worker.
What are your hobbies when you are not working?
My hobbies are listening to music, playing with my dog and spending time with my husband.
What has working in your industry taught you?
My industry has taught me that to always be kind you NEVER know someone’s story or background. And to help those when they never ask.
What advice would you say to someone interested in working in cosmetology?
My advice to anyone wanting to join the beauty work is work hard, HUSTLE always, [and] be nice to anyone cause...you never know if they could be a client and to network your booty off.
What are some of your favorite restaurants to visit in Oklahoma?
My favorite restaurants would have to the parlor, neighborhood jam and Sergio’s
